Wondering what to do this weekend in NYC? The weather is amazing, the forecast for Easter Sunday is sunny and 63 degrees! Yippee!!! You might just find me sitting outside all weekend long enjoying these warmer temps with a huge smile on my face. But incase you are wanting to do something a little more exciting, here are 5 suggestions on things to do this weekend in the City I love so much:
1. Easter Parade & Easter Bonnet Festival – FREE!
When: Eater Sunday, April 5th
Location : St. Patrick’s Cathedral (between 50th & 51st St.), Manhattan
This is a great description right from www.nycgo.com (check out site for more details):
Each year on Easter, celebrants don festive finery and show off their very best bonnets along Fifth Avenue. Immortalized by Irving Berlin (with some help from Judy Garland and Fred Astaire), the pageant is a New York City tradition that stretches back to the 1870s. Starting at about 10am and continuing until 4pm, the parade marches north on Fifth Avenue, from 49th Street to 57th Street. The best place to watch is from the area around St. Patrick’s Cathedral; better yet, bring your bonnet and join the parade.
2. Brooklyn flea – FREE
When: Saturday April 4th, 10am- 5pm (rain or shine)
Where: Fort Green, 176 Lafayette Ave (btw. Clermont & Vanderbilt Ave.)
The outdoor market in Fort Greene is re-opening this weekend!! Go outside and enjoy this weather and shop for some cool stuff! They’ve added some new vendors, check out the website for more info: www.brooklynflea.com
3. Central Park – Sunday April 5th looks to be an absolutely beautiful day! Head over to Central Park, or one of NYC’s other great parks and enjoy the sunshine. No jackets or boots needed anymore! Enjoy this spring weather we’ve been waiting for these past few months!
