I took my first trip to New York City at the age of 18. From my first steps out of the subway station, looking up to that mesmerizing concrete jungle, breathing in that inspiration all around me, I was hooked. I can’t get enough of that beautiful city. There is just something so magical about it. So many different neighborhoods to explore. Millions of people, all different walks of life all bumping into each other as they rush down the steps of the subway station. Beautiful buildings, captivating lights, magnificent parks that are so calm and peaceful yet right in the middle of all the hustle and bustle. The city so many dream of, just like Frank Sinatra sang, “If I can make it there, I’ll make it anywhere,” it’s a city of inspiration and dreams. I’m captivated and inspired walking shoulder to shoulder with all the people that that call NYC home. I often find myself wondering what each persons story is. Were they born here? Or did they move here after college with no money but a heart full of dreams and said, “I’m gonna go for it” and took the leap to try to “make it” in the Big Apple. Do they commute or are they lucky enough to live in one of these million dollar manhattan apartments? Each person inspires me simply because they call NYC home. I am now lucky enough to live in the NYC metro area and am able to experience the magic of city I love so much. Even though I’ve seen it so many times, that skyline still takes my breath away every time I see her on the horizon. I never get tired of NYC, she still makes my heart beat fast. NYC, I love you.
