NYC Food: Burger Joint – hidden jem!
Everyone loves a good burger. I had heard about the “burger joint” inside Le Parker Meridien Hotel in Manhattan at 119 W 56th St and that it was a must to check out! It’s a nice hotel so it seems strange that you would go in there looking for a greasy burger. It’s a hidden spot the average Joe might not find. When you first enter the lobby of the hotel you are expecting maybe a sign or something to direct you, but you don’t see anything like that. My friend told me it’s behind a curtain, but I guess I was still expecting something a little more obvious. Well, we found it, and it was great. If you love a good greasy burger you should definitely check it out. Its small, but wasn’t too busy when we were there, so we didn’t have to wait long. The burger was classic with the traditional toppings but had that greasy messiness to it that just makes it feel like it was made with love. NYC actually has 2 locations now. Check out their website for more info. Here are a few pictures I took on my visit.
In the lobby of the hotel you wouldn’t know where the Burger Joint is? You actually make a left in front of the burgundy curtains!
This is the sign at the end of the hallway, where the burgundy curtains are.
It’s very small, but once you are there you feel like you made it to a top secret spot!
The decor is pretty cool. Writing on the wall and magazine and newspaper clippings about the Burger Joint. Very relaxed atmosphere.
Notice the signs are made of cardboard (so cool!) and it’s cash only.
And here it is! The burger! It was delicious! We also got fries but apparently I was so excited for the food to come, I forgot to take a pic. haha. I guess you will just have to go check it out for yourself!
